Courts Convey Conclusive Verdicts on Provincial Councils

he Court of Appeals has requested the legislative leader of the Central Province to shun expelling Sarath Ekanayake from the post of Central Province Chief Minister (CM). The request was made resulting to considering an appeal presented by Sarath Ekanayake.

Boss Minister Sarath Ekanayake in his appeal refers to that a certain gathering of commonplace councilors are attempting to expel him from the post of CM through testimonies. The CM had asked for that a request be issued for this to be ceased as it is unlawful.

UVA PROVINCE

The choice relating to the writ request filled against the evacuation of Shasheendra Rajapaksa and the arrangement of Harin Fernando as the Chief Minister of the Uva territory was put off to the 21st of this current month.

Sajith Premadasa says President Sirisena has won the hearts of the people

Minister of Housing and Samurdhi Sajith Premadasa,  at an event held in Matara on Wednesday, May 06 stated that he strongly believes President Maitripala Sirisena would never betray the people’s mandate.
Minister of Housing and Samurdhi, Sajith Premadasa, noted that it is not a big deal to speak to the former president Mahinda Rajapaksa who is an advisor to the party.
Minister Premadasa said: No matter who raises questions, no matter what arguments are made,  President Sirisena is a person who started from the bottom and has won the hearts of the people from all aspects of society.He went on to note that the President displays the characteristics of a person who knows to show gratitude.
Sajith Premadasa said:  No matter who raises any issue, it is certain that President Sirisena would never betray the mandate of 6.2 million people. He further noted that he has faith in the President more than himself.
Meanwhile, the presentation of financial aid and deeds to selected families in the Matara district took place at the Cooperative Centre Hall in Matara under the auspices of Minister Sajith Premadasa. MP Buddhika Pathirana and several others were present for the event.




Basil to return to country tomorrow

Former Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa is scheduled to return to the country tomorrow(21), sources said. Rajapaksa, speaking to Ada Derana earlier on March 26, said that he will return to Sri Lanka soon and assist in the investigations into allegations against him.
 Police spokesman ASP Ruwan Gunasekara on March 25 said that a court order will be obtained to bring down the former President’s brother in order to question him over alleged financial fraud within the Divi Neguma Department.
 The former Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) National Organiser and his wife Pushpa Rajapaksa left the country for the US on 11 January, following the defeat of elder brother Mahinda Rajapaksa at the Presidential Election.
